“Busy” Is Not A Badge of Honor
"It can't be that bad."
As I watched reels and memes from Instagram mom-fluencers about the challenges of shifting from summer to the back-to-school season, this was my initial thought. In fact, this extends beyond kids going back to school and is nearly every aspect of motherhood. The prevailing sentiment seems to be: "motherhood is hard AF and I am in survival mode”. But is it truly so? How are we perpetuating this notion for ourselves and others?
The Overwhelming Pressure to Breastfeed
Breastfeeding is an intensely personal choice and should be respected as such. Mothers deserve support rather than pressure in their feeding decisions. Nourishment is a vital aspect of motherhood, and it’s crucial to view mothers holistically—considering their physical, emotional, and mental well-being. We must move away from a one-size-fits-all approach and acknowledge the unique needs and circumstances of each family. By fostering an environment of choice and flexibility, we can help both mothers and babies thrive. This is the essence of yoga therapy. Yoga therapists understand that we are not the sole providers of holistic alternative care; instead, we collaborate with our clients to empower them to become the best versions of themselves, utilizing all available modalities.
3 Yoga Therapy Tools for Burnout
The daily stress of trying to handle work demands with home life and parenting is a recipe for a short temper, loss of patience, and feeling completely drained of energy day after day. But what if we told you that there are simple yoga therapy tools that can help you rediscover your calm amidst all the chaos? With just a few minutes a day, these techniques can help you tune in to your body's signals and reset your nervous system, like a reality check that it is not all doom and gloom. A moment for rest helps break the stress cycle. We are designed to oscillate between work and rest, and yoga therapy offers many tools to achieve this.
3 Yoga Therapy Practices for a Balanced Summer
Summer is a time of significant transitions, not just marked by warmer weather but also by a shift in family routines from school to summer vacation, which can be disorienting. For moms, the shift in our kids' routines doesn't halt our other commitments like work, self-care, and exercise. For me, it makes it harder, often leading to exhaustion, chronic stress, and burnout. Here are 3 of yoga therapy's greatest hits to create balance this summer.
Smooth Your Summer Transition with These 3 Sun Salutation Variations
Summer is just around the corner, and with it comes a season of change and activity. For busy moms, the shift from school routines to summer fun can be a bit overwhelming. But there's a practice that can help ease this transition—yoga sun salutations. In fact, sun salutes are commonly done to celebrate summer solstice, the longest day of the year, which falls on Thursday, June 20th this year. You can find many yogis, including myself, doing 108 sun salutations on this day with the intention of stoking the inner fire and celebrating the powerful energy of the sun.

What is Moment for Mom?
Experiencing yoga therapy was transformative—it changed how I practice and teach yoga. The shift from viewing yoga as merely physical exercise to understanding it as a holistic practice that touches all layers of our being—physical, energetic, mental, subconscious, and spiritual—was life-changing and most impactful during my postpartum recovery. This realization made me understand that if anyone needed this multifaceted approach to self-care, it was moms. Thus, Moment for Mom was born from my deep desire to share these powerful tools and techniques with mothers who often juggle multiple responsibilities and face various challenges simultaneously. My goal is to redefine self-care for moms—not as an added burden on their to-do list but as an integrated part of their daily lives.
